Chai Spiced Ginger-Pumpkin Ice Cream

1 cup  canned unsweetened pumpkin
cup  brown sugar
1 teaspoon  ground ginger
1 tablespoon  minced crystallized ginger
teaspoon Chai Masala (chai tea mix)
1 quart  creamy French vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
  1. Thoroughly mix the pumpkin, sugar, ground and crystallized gingers and chai masala together.
  2. Fold in the ice cream until the mixture is all one color.
  3. Pack it in a freezer container and store in the freezer. Allow the ice cream to soften slightly before serving.
  4. Makes 1 quart, 8 servings.
